Helical (spiral) head for 820 variable speed planer. These are great and what we use on all of our new planers! They cut so well and leave a board so smooth, sanding time is reduced by half or more.
When it seems to be getting dull, just give the blades 1/4 turn and you have a whole new set of knives ready for use. Each head has 100 knives and each knife can be turned 4 times, so it's like getting 4 sets of knives in one! It combines the advantages of shear, helix and spiral tooth action resulting in a smoother, cleaner cut across the board.
With the stagger tooth design there is no longer a need to replace a brand new straight blade if you happen to run a nail or hard knot through your planer. With this planer head, you just need to replace 1 or 2 inexpensive inserts.
