Pivot Pin VERY tight

The replacement upper blade clamp that I ordered to replace the one I had been using arrived in a timely manner and looked to be an exact replacement . Upon installation I noted that the pivot pin was an interference fit to both the arm and the blade clamp. This makes the clamp nearly fixed to the arm with movement (swing front to back) VERY stiff. I also was not able to completely drive the pin flush due to the heavy press fit.
Great blade holder

Had to replace the upper blade hold on my 20 yr old hawk saw. Part showed up quickly and after few minutes of fiddling knocked out the old roll pin and installed the new part. Oh boy did that make a difference. The only issue I had was the new pin is a bit smaller than the old one. Put a dab of lock tite on it and seems to be staying put. That’s the reason for only four stars.
I should have bought this sooner

I have had problems with my blade popping out of the top holder. I have also had the tip of the blade bend to the left making it very hard to put it into another hole for sawing. This part took care of all of that. Scroll sawing is now a joy again

Upper Blade Holder

My upper blade holder wore out after 15 years. This is the same as the old and fits neatly. It was difficult to replace the old one. We had to remove the upper arm and pound out the old blade lock with a 1/8 in. punch. My husband had to do it as I did not have the strength. This is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

Wore out the orginal upper blade holder after twelve years of scrolling. Idential replacement. Not the easiest to replace, but I got it done.

The product is still made of a soft alum. which tend to strip the threads easily. Ours is used in a shop with many older residents and some do not know their strength. Overall the product is great if used properly.
