Great product

While I haven't used my scroll saw much since I put the Line-Loc upgrade on it, I am SO GLAD that I did the upgrade! My tubing on my 20 yr old RBI Hawk, 20" saw had broken a few years ago, so I was constantly blowing sawdust out of the way. This new, larger tubing really takes care of the dust now, NO MORE BLOWING!
I also did not have to drill out the rear hole for the new, larger tubing, and grommet to fit. Not sure why I didn't have to drill, but the grommet fit in there, without any issues, as well as the larger tubing. Hopefully, I'm set for another 20 years! -

Better than the original air nozzle. More powerful dust removal. Highly recommend.

LOC-LINE UPGRADE KIT
Posted by LARRY on 16th Aug 2019
This is a nice improvement for older Hawks. I installed it on my Hawk 220-3 along with a new bellows (see separate review). I figured I would do the upgrade while installing a new bellows.
The upgrade works great however Hawk does not supply any directions. Hawk said they had a video but I couldn't find it.
The only difficult thing is drilling the larger holes for the tube. After removing the old tube remove the old grommets and drill out the two holes with a 1/2" drill. The rear hole is a piece of cake to drill as you can drill from the top. The hole under the bellows you have to drill from underneath which I was able to do by drilling up with the drill.
Insert the two new larger grommets in the holes then install the new hose pushing it into the grommet under the bellows about 1/4" or so. The hose won't slip out as it is a friction fit.
Run the new line up through the back hole and feed it along the arm and attach it in the front with the new bracket and hose assembly then attach the rear portion of the hose with the supplied new clamp that attaches to the saw arm.
Turn on your saw and adjust the nozzle to blow the sawdust off your work. This kit moves more air and blows the sawdust out of the way better than the original.
I recommend this upgrade kit, it works great. -

Air nozzle assembly does a GREAT job
Posted by JRBRYANT on 8th Mar 2019
My RBI Hawk came with a simple tube that pointed in the general direction of where the cutting occurs. It was held in place by a thick wire that never really allowed me to point the air flow in the proper direction to fully remove the sawdust whilst operating the scroll saw. Since I bought the saw used, I don't know if the thick wire holding the tube in place was the way it was manufactured or if it was a "fix" by the previous owner. I'm guessing it was a fix because I don't think ANY manufacturer would have shipped something out that worked so poorly. After receiving the nozzle assembly, I decided that instead of messing with the bellows and replacing the entire hose, I simply snipped the new hose, near the nozzle, and attached the new nozzle to the old tube. I realize I probably don't get as much airflow since I'm still using the old 1/4" hose... but being able to direct the airflow EXACTLY where I want it is what I was wanting to accomplish in the first place. I felt like I was getting enough airflow through the 1/4" hose, I just couldn't get it pointed in the exact location I desired. The flexible nozzle attached easily and I can now get the airflow pointed in the exact spot where I need it. For me, it was a bit on the pricey side... but WELL worth the money! Since I have plenty of hose left, I may take the time to hook the new hose up to the bellows and see if that actually does make much difference. All that to say... even with using the 1/4" hose and the flexible nozzle, it works GREAT!

The dust blower that I ordered was very good made and works better than original one that came with the saw.

Why just replace when you can upgrade?
Posted by Dave Carr on 2nd Nov 2018
If I had removed my broken part first, I could have figured out how to install the new part. I called Hawk and they walked me through it, as usual. The bracket was rather large and could have had a third hole to get the air hose further away from the table. The new hose delivers much more air than the old one.

No news is good news

Since I ordered this for my brother in law and we were a little unsure when we did since it was the 'larger' replacement of what he had...... and I haven't heard any negative comments from him (and I would have if it didn't work) I have to say.... no news is good news.
